Business Development role to help us grow all areas of our business - membership, conference and our registration division.

Are you feeling it's time for a change? This is a truly unique opportunity to help grow and shape the future of the Exercise Association of New Zealand (ExerciseNZ) - and by default the exercise industry as a whole.

ExerciseNZ is a non-profit incorporated society. Our members are fitness centres and people with an interest in fitness centres throughout New Zealand. ExerciseNZ represents the exercise industry on a broad range of issues, as well as advising and informing members of industry issues, and running major events (industry conference amp;amp;amp;amp;amp; awards). We also operate the registration body for the Exercise industry, the NZ Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) which provides an independent marketable verification of quality for the public. The role is designed to support all these activities.

We are looking for an Auckland based Business Development Manager to be responsible for managing, implementing and driving ExerciseNZ's sales both commercially and operationally, creating robust, positive relationships and generating new business. Sales will be across all areas of the business including memberships, conference registrations, sponsorship and more.

You will be an energetic, enthusiastic and passionate individual with a keen interest and/or experience in the NZ exercise industry. As we are based in Christchurch but you will be in Auckland, you'll thrive working independently and enjoy the freedom of flexible working conditions.

A successful candidate is determined by sales activity volume including (but not restricted to) enquiries, contacts, phone calls and presentations, and also on the ability to close the sale. Your excellent customer service and rapport building skills over the phone will be ideal for developing relationships.

Core responsibilities:

- Lead the Business Development across all key business areas to deliver growth in conjunction with the business development plan and individual targets.
- Achieve targets in relation to sales activity – number of sales made; reporting this performance on a regular basis to management.
- Build relationships with key industry stakeholders by generating leads, making contacts with a view to conversion.
- Present ExerciseNZ's products to prospective clients with the vision of converting them in to (but not limited to) conference delegates, members and sponsors.
- Work effectively with the CEO and marketing team to ensure that all communications are relevant, consistent and effective in promoting ExerciseNZ to clients and prospect base.
- Undertake sales and business presentations as required, achieving targeted growth in all business areas.
- Work closely with the CEO and marketing team to ensure that appropriate mechanisms are in place to assist with the generation of new business.

Skills and experience required:

- At least five years previous sales experience in a business to business environment.
- Proven experience in sales, meeting and exceeding KPIs and targets.
- Experience in producing sales plans, setting targets and producing budgets.
- Effective communication skills (written and oral), which is targeted appropriately for the audience to which it is delivered.
- The flexibility to travel within New Zealand (including a NZ drivers licence)
- The ability and drive to successfully work independently and remotely.
- NZ exercise industry qualifications and/or detailed knowledge of the industry preferred but not essential.

Additional Pay Details

Role has a base salary (60K), plus incentives with on target earnings of over 90K.

In addition, a car allowance and mobile phone allowance.
