Sport Development Manager - Surf Life Saving New Zealand
Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is seeking a self motivated, innovative, sport development professional to lead the implementation of our National Sport Plan 2009-2015.
SLSNZ is the National Association representing 72 Surf Life Saving Clubs. Today nearly 15,000 people are members of SLSNZ. In the summer of 2010/11 we will celebrate 100 years of lifesaving services to New Zealand communities.
Providing beach patrols on 80 of New Zealand's busiest beaches each summer is just part of what we do. Being a proactive national sporting organisation and providing a range of sport opportunities and pathways to our members, from participation through to high performance, ensures our members have the fitness, skills and willingness to keep NZ's beaches safe.
The successful candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications relating to sport development and be passionate about, and committed to, making a positive difference. This position will require a person who is competent to lead change.
SLSNZ's dedicated network of 15,000 members is the heart and soul of our organisations ability to deliver safer beaches. The ability to drive meaningful consultation with members and stakeholders will be a mandatory competency for this role.
Based out of SLSNZ's Wellington office, the Sport Development Manager will be responsible for daily tasks focussed in the areas of Coaching Development, Official Development, Member Recognition, Event Development and High Performance.
Applications close 5pm, Friday 12 March 2010.
